Shine and Shade - SPARK & Sandie Wollasch

On 3 July, Spark - the classical band and renowned singer Sandie Wollasch will bring the multi-faceted program "Shine & Shade" to the park of Villa Wieser in Herxheim. The concert combines classical chamber music with pop, jazz and avant-garde elements - a summery evening full of contrasts between light and shade.
Shine & Shade is a sound journey through lighter and darker moods: Spark brings an unusual, lively set of instruments to the stage with recorders, strings and piano, combining classical roots with contemporary influences. Sandie Wollasch complements the ensemble with her warm, versatile voice - together they create a crossover of classical, pop and jazz that spans genres and includes both lyrical and energetic moments.
Spark is considered one of the most innovative ensembles on the German chamber music scene - they rely on unusual timbres and surprising arrangements. In combination with Wollasch's stage presence, the result is a concert that appeals to classical music lovers as well as jazz and pop audiences: catchy melodies, subtle sound textures and rousing improvisational passages alternate with each other.
The concert will take place as part of the "Live in the Park" event series in the picturesque park of Villa Wieser in Herxheim - an open-air series that transforms the park into a summer stage for great local and national musicians every year at the beginning of July.
If the weather is less summery, the concert takes place in the Elmar-Weiller-Festhalle in Herxheim.
