SHINE FESTIVAL OPEN AIR

Leipzig, get ready to shine. On June 13, the very first SHINE FESTIVAL celebrates its open-air premiere in the middle of the greenery on the AOK meadow in Clara Zetkin Park. The occasion: LUYS finally unleashes its brand new EP "Shine" (release on June 12), which will of course be celebrated in style. A balmy summer evening, five acts, good people and lots of light. Sounds like your kind of evening? Then off to the Auwald.

A small but important note in advance: the festival is moving. Instead of as originally planned, everything will take place on the AOK meadow in Clara-Zetkin-Park (Anton-Bruckner-Allee 1). So: save the new address and let the whole crew know.

The stage will be colorful and loud. LUYS and band form the centerpiece of the evening and play all the songs from the fresh EP, and because a premiere evening like this is something special, they unpack a few pieces on top that they usually hardly ever play live 👀. They are joined by acts that could hardly be more different: The Brake Point bring their psychedelic-groovy indie sound from Leipzig, healing deliver the raw mix of 90s grunge, punk and hard rock from Dresden, and Krankenschwester round off the musical program. And in the middle of it all, drag queen Patrischa Davis transforms the meadow into a glittering stage with her show, somewhere between danceable power and great emotion 💅. Rock, indie, punk and drag all in one evening - a first time could hardly be better.

"Shine" is just one day old when the first notes drift across the meadow, it could hardly be fresher. In between sets, you can stop by the merch stand, pick up brand new pieces directly from LUYS and just have a quiet chat 💞. Food and drinks will be provided on site, all you need to bring is a good mood (and maybe a picnic blanket).

Entry is on a donation basis. In other words: you give what the evening is worth to you and directly support the music. Fair deal, right?

The AOK Wiese is nestled in Leipzig's Auwald forest, just a few minutes' walk from the city center and the music district. A green meadow, tall trees, evening sun over the Elster floodplain: there is hardly a more beautiful backdrop for a first time in Leipzig.
