Zappel-Philipp, Suppenkaspar, Struwwelpeter, Hans-Guck-in-die-Luft, Konrad, der Daumenlutscher, Pyromanin Paulinchen, der böse Friederich & Co. - the stories of naughty children who come to a bad end are as legendary as they are controversial. Since they were first published by the psychiatrist and children's book author Heinrich Hoffmann in 1845, the stories, which were intended to instil morals and "decent" behavior in girls and boys, have lost none of their creepy fascination. Together with authors Julian Crouch and Phelim McDermott, the British cult band "The Tiger Lillies" have reworked the pedagogically questionable material into a wonderfully anarchic junk opera. With plenty of grotesque humor and a musical mix of wacky circus sounds and weird, macabre sounds à la Tom Waits, the multi-award-winning musical is a "murder mystery" for anyone who enjoys a good dose of black humor. 30 minutes before the performance there is an introduction to the play in the auditorium.
