Experience a special evening at the FITZ! Theater - short, exciting performances in the middle of the city!

The SHORTIES format presents short pieces from puppet theater, contemporary dance and film every two months. Each edition brings new, thematically linked contributions to the stage.

And afterwards? The bar with outdoor area in the Kulturareal passage invites you to linger - stay for a drink and talk to the artists.

Program
"Fragments" // Mike Planz
Fragments is a choreographic space of vagueness, a border area in which language disintegrates and the body becomes the carrier of an older, nameless knowledge. Breath opens fine gaps in the fabric between the self and the other, as if something foreign and indeterminate is pushing in from there. An echo pervades the space - a never formulated question that does not answer but conjures. Movement appears as a ritual without origin, as a circling trace that devours itself. Gestures emerge like relics of something forgotten and sink below the surface again.

"I'm fine" // HMDK Stuttgart
I'm doing well. I'm healthy and have money. The sun is shining and every now and then a drop falls from the sky. But something is wrong. The world could lose its balance. This production by the second-year puppet theater students at the HMDK Stuttgart was freely adapted from "Die Geschichte meiner Einschätzung am Anfang des dritten Jahrtausends" by Peter Licht and created in cooperation with recorder students.

The trialogue between dance, puppet theater and film will be complemented by a thematically appropriate short film program curated by Giovanna Thiery (Stuttgarter Filmwinter).
