Shovel Dance Collective is a group of nine musicians united by their passion for the beauty, power and political purpose of traditional music from the UK, Ireland and beyond. Their music appears like a patchwork quilt where pieces are sewn together, rearranged and recontextualized. The yarn is infused with their sense of aesthetic innovation and a deep understanding of how traditional music gives a voice to the oppressed and those who create the wealth of the world through their work.

Alongside sold-out headline shows across the UK and international festivals, her critically acclaimed second album The Shovel Dance, released in October 2024, was named Album of the Year by The Quietus, as was her previous work The Water is the Shovel of the Shore.
