SHTETL BERLIN Festival Opening

In the organizer's words:

Shtetl Berlin Festival Opening: Zingeray & 3rd Seder

Shtetl Berlin celebrates the opening of this year's festival of Yiddish culture in the Grüner Salon! With a mixture of Sing-Along (Zingeray) and Third Seder evening.

The Third Seder originated in America in the 1920s, a community event of performance and song dedicated to the Passover themes of social justice and liberation. Inspired by the traditional Seder table, the Third Seder is not a religious event, but an opportunity to explore the many connections of Yiddish culture to our ongoing struggle for freedom and justice for all.

With our hosts Sasha Lurje and Jake Schneider, we will fill the evening with song, poetry and inspiration, creating an open space to which all are welcome.

After the zingeray, we will celebrate the beginning of the festival with a jam session, dance and lekhayim!

Free admission and open to people of all ages. Donations are gratefully accepted!
