Silent Book Club August 2026

In the organizer's words:

This summer, we’re heading back to one of our favorite spots! 😍

We’ll kick things off at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, August 23. Karl mag’s süß offers a varied menu for those with a sweet tooth, featuring homemade cakes, ice cream, specialty coffees, chai, tea, and much more. We can sit inside or outside—whatever you prefer.Note: This time, we can accommodate up to 30 people!

Our Schedule

  • Doors open at 10:15 a.m.— please don’t arrive early!
  • 11:00 a.m. Welcome
  • 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m.: Silent Reading Hour
  • Starting at 12:15 p.m.: Discussion & Wrap-up
  • 1:30 p.m.: Event ends

As always, participation is free 🙏 So please feel free to order something so that the cafés will continue to enjoy working with us in the future.

For newcomers: Here’s how it works

  • Everyone brings their own book—whatever they’re currently reading
  • There are no genre restrictions
  • No talking while reading
  • In between and afterward, you can network if you’d like, but you don’t have to

Experience shows: Sign up quickly before all the spots are gone! :-) To give as many people as possible a chance, we’re limiting the number of tickets per email address to a maximum of two.

Important: Wewant to avoid “no-shows” in the future. It’s only fair to those who are really disappointed because they couldn’t get a spot. So please don’t get tickets “just in case you feel like it that day”—only get them if you seriously plan to come. If something comes up: Message us on Facebook, Instagram, or via email at kontakt@silentbookclub-chemnitz.de so we can give your spot to someone on the waitlist. Thanks!
