Silent Book Club May 2026 – English Edition

In the organizer's words:

The Silent Book Club is returning to its roots in May - yet this time it will be a little different!

It all kicks off at 2.30 pm on Sunday 31 May at the Kaffeesatz cultural pub. Same venue, but with a slightly different concept: everyone can read whatever they like - but preferably in English. During the event, please speak only in English. We aim to provide a meeting place for readers who do not (yet) speak German very well, as well as for anyone keen to practise their English. Please note: We can accommodate up to 25 people at Kaffeesatz.

Our schedule

• Doors open from 2:30 pm - not before!
• 3:15 pm Welcome
• 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm Silent Reading Hour
• from 4:30 pm Discussion & wrap-up
• 5:00 pm: End of event

As always, participation is free of charge 🙏 So please do order something to ensure the cafés are happy to work with us in the future.

For newcomers: Here's how it works

• Everyone brings their own book - whatever you're currently reading
• There are no genre restrictions - the book just needs to be in English
• No talking whilst reading
• You can socialize in between and afterwards, but you don't have to
• Experience shows: sign up quickly before all the places are gone! :-) To give as many people as possible a chance, we're limiting the number of tickets per email address to a maximum of two.

Important: We want to avoid 'no-shows' in future. It's only fair to those who are really disappointed because they couldn't get a place. So please don't get tickets "just in case you feel like it on the day", but only if you genuinely intend to come.
