Concerto Brandenburg, artistically directed by Christian-Friedrich Dallmann, plays the first movement of Symphony No. 6 in D major "Le matin" and the 7th Symphony "Le midi" from the "Tageszeiten-Sinfonien" by Joseph Haydn in the New Year's Eve Festival Concert.
The highlight of the program is one of the last works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Clarinet Concerto in A major, which he composed in perfect perfection in 1791.
The soloist is the Russian-born clarinettist Lisa Shklyaver, principal clarinettist of Anima Eterna Bruges, who has been a friend of Concerto Brandenburg through numerous engagements.
The New Year's Eve Festival Concert in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church will be played on period instruments. It can be heard at both 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and promises a beautiful musical end to the year.
