Silvester-Orgelkonzert | Festliche Musik für 8 Trompeten, Pauken und Orgel

The radiant trumpet sounds of the Dresdner Trompeten Consort of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, refined with rhythmic timpani beats and magnificently enhanced by the powerful orchestral sound of the organ in the vast space of the Kreuzkirche, attract several thousand concertgoers every year to Saxony's largest church directly on the Altmarkt to ring in the New Year in an exhilarating way.

Once again this year, Georg Friedrich Händel's "Fireworks Music" and Edward Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstances" are some of the most effective works in music literature. The wonderful concert program also includes popular compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Marc-Antoine Charpentier and Ennio Morricone, as well as new arrangements made especially for this concert by Helmut Fuchs, principal trumpeter of the Staatskapelle Dresden.
