The turn of the year is characterized by great drama - it's about blood feud, incest and supreme happiness in love. Siegmund from Wagner's Walküre is a parade role for star tenor Jonas Kaufmann, who presents it passionately and combatively. Kirill Petrenko conducts the first act of the opera. The program opens with solemn excerpts from Tannhäuser.
