and works by Teppo Hauta-aho, Sam Suggs and Wolfram Wagner
For the grand finale of its debut season, the Simply Quartet will once again be joined by Dominik Wagner, currently the most exciting double bass player and, of course, also a debut artist at the Nikolaisaal. Together, they serve up an absolute showpiece to their ever-growing fan base: Antonín Dvořák's only string quintet with double bass combines orchestral sonority with catchy melodies and folkloristic verve. As a warm-up, Dominik Wagner first demonstrates the diverse forms of expression his double bass can show off, before the Simply Quartet brings a gem from Joseph Haydn's extensive string quartet oeuvre to life.
