Mozart and the birds - symphony concert

The first part of the concert focuses on a special songbird: the starling. Its astonishing ability to imitate melodies already fascinated Wolfgang Amadé Mozart, who himself kept a starling as a pet - it is said that he could even whistle the theme from Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 17 in G major. In addition to Mozart's piano concerto with the internationally renowned pianist Andreas Staier, the program includes the world premiere of Alex Schöppl's m:re for band and orchestra as well as a rousing version of Jean-Philippe Rameau's La Poule.

Mozart and love - opera

In the second part, characters from Così fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro, Idomeneo, Lucio Silla, Don Giovanni and The Magic Flute meet in a semi-staged fantasy opera. Arias, duets and orchestral works show love in all its facets - turbulent, surprising and ultimately conciliatory.
