Sundays and Tuesdays are considered the pansies among days out. Live concerts and events are few and far between on these evenings. This is about to change - these inconspicuous days are now getting the attention they deserve!

In cooperation with sipgate, "Schleuse Zwei" has launched the "sipgate undays" - classic off-days in touring on which there are usually no concerts. We are delighted to be able to present you with a colorful bouquet of musical delicacies in the music bar in the "Bilker Bunker" on these very days.

On Sunday, July 30: Mehmet Aslan.
Curious, style-conscious and exceptional - these three adjectives aptly describe the son of Turkish immigrants. Born and raised in Basel, Mehmet Aslan literally soaked up Turkish music in his childhood. Today, the artist lives in Berlin. Or rather: he is on an esoteric journey deep into a rabbit hole of fascinating, often unusual, enchanting sounds, which leaves plenty of room for his audience's burgeoning urge to move. What constantly drives the musician on his journey is the question of the fluidity of his own post-migrant identity. Mehmet Aslan explores possible answers to this question through music production, live performance, DJing and graphic design. His studio album "The Sun Is Parallel" (Planisphere Editorial, 2022) features contributions from Italian percussionist and composer Valentina Magaletti and Spanish composer Niño de Elche, as well as his live band members Alican Tezer (drums) and Daniel Pankau (guitar). In addition to appearances in Lyon, Brussels, Paris, Milan and Athens, the exceptional artist and his band have been invited to perform at the "Schleuse Zwei" music bar in the "Bilker Bunker".
