Six-pack wrapped in bacon
from January at the Concordia Wuppertal. Sporty comedy by Kerstin Jensen
Andreas, known as "Andy" Neumeister, has a problem: ONE problem? No, lots of problems! Andy is a man in his prime, around 50, and the midlife crisis has him firmly in its grip. So now his problems are piling up like the items in an extended family's shopping cart on a Saturday afternoon at the supermarket.
Andreas has finally decided to take up sport again after more than 30 years without exercise. Not only to get fitter and get out of bed better in the morning, but also to impress his office flame Susanne, with whom he has a secret love affair.
The only annoying thing is that Andy's wife Katrin has found out about it and he now has to live in a shabby hotel room in the meantime. He is also annoyed by his personal fitness trainer Selina, who is always pushing him to new heights in new sports.
The overwhelmed man now has to decide how his life should continue. When he wakes up one evening in the sports department of a department store, alone and without cell phone reception, the catastrophe is perfect: Andreas is at a crossroads in his life.
With this play, Kerstin Jensen has written a wonderful debut work, which offers an actor like Kay Szacknys a great space to entertain the audience in a highly entertaining way, peppered with bizarre situations, humorous wordplay and life's little bits of wisdom.
There is not a dry eye in the house, we suffer and laugh together with Andy Neumeister!
