The "SkateJam" originally comes from the USA and goes back to the influence of hip-hop, breakdancing and freestyle skaters who tried their first tricks on wheels. Instead of just doing relaxed laps on the track and paying attention to the appropriate speed, JamSkating is all about a sense of rhythm, smooth movements and cool dance moves.

At the SkateJam roller disco, you can show off your stylish moves. If you want to learn new moves or perfect your moves, the SkateJam workshop is just the thing for you. But even if you're new to roller skating, you'll get your money's worth at the roller disco thanks to the free introduction at the start of the disco.

Disco is right up your street, but 8 p.m. isn't quite your time? Then mark March 29 and April 12 thick in your calendar, because that's when the big glittering Zollverein roller skating rink becomes a SkateJam roller disco during the day and the area is reserved just for your dance moves from 12:00 noon. The offer is aimed at families with children of all ages - the only requirement is that everyone who rolls onto the track must be able to move upright in roller skates. And to make things really colorful, disco enthusiasts can have colorful motifs painted on their faces as a little surprise at the children's face painting between 13:00 and 16:00.
