Double concert: Choky & Sloe Paul

On this evening, two independent pop designs meet, which move in different ways between melancholy, lightness and catchy melodies.

Choky, the duo project of siblings Jeanne-Lilli and Jonathan Ohr, who have never lived in the same city. Their songs are created between Stuttgart, Augsburg and Paris: catchy pop melodies with mostly polyphonic vocals in German, French and English. Washed-out guitars meet 2000s grooveboxes and form a playful dreampop with influences from shoegaze, French house and electropop.

Sloe Paul, the project of Berlin-based songwriter and producer Paul Abbrecht, is back with his third studio album "Searching/Finding" (2025, Treibender Teppich Records). His classic pop songs are unagitated and expansive, with melodies that slowly open up and clear, elegant arrangements. They tell of farewells and new beginnings, carry melancholy as well as hope - the last shimmer of summer, translated into sound. Reminiscences of Brian Wilson's Surf's Up, John Cale's European chanson ballads or the one-man Beatles pop of Emitt Rhodes flash up, only to turn out to be unmistakably Sloe Paul. Live, he presents his songs with a five-piece band that effortlessly holds the fine line between precision and genuine emotion.

A double concert that combines intimate pop moments and dreamy soundscapes - two perspectives, one evening.
