SMASH COMEDY - tour finale with workshops, show and panel discussion

Hamburg's queerfeminist stand-up comedy show goes on tour in October 2024 and celebrates its final show at Kulturladen St. Georg - with an art-activist anti-discrimination day!

Free workshops on stand-up comedy/gag writing, slam poetry/creative writing, songwriting, improv/acting and awareness/non-violent communication will take place from 1 to 5 pm. Autobiographical experiences or observations are artistically processed and presented in the evening in the comedy show in a funny way in the various genres. The workshop leaders are all comedians and at the same time affected by discrimination themselves, whether gay, non-binary, trans, single+queer, formerly homeless or BiPoC, and use their art to transform the topics that concern them - and which are also socio-politically relevant. People who have had no previous contact with intersectional (queer)feminist issues and who want to actively open themselves up to new perspectives and art forms are also expressly invited to take part.

The SMASH COMEDY CLUB was founded for the women, FLINTA* & queers of the German comedy scene - for more visibility of marginalized groups, people and topics that hardly ever take place on conservative comedy stages.

SMASH COMEDY is a stage without toxic masculinity, misogyny and racism, ableism, homophobia and trans hostility - a Brave Space - and a Safer Space for the audience too. Motto: With maximum fun and diversity power against discrimination.

After the show, which is created by the core cast of the Smash Comedy Tour (Katharina Linnepe, Neo and Xenia Brandt as well as Schwessi as host) and the workshop leaders with their participants, there will be an audience discussion.

Our stand-up comedy is not a political cabaret, and yet it is a political, cultural activist act. Solidarize, educate yourself, train your empathy muscles and come to our workshops and shows, we look forward to seeing you!
