SMASH COMEDY, Hamburg's queerfeminist stand-up comedy show, celebrates the women, FLINTA* & queers of the German comedy scene - for more visibility of marginalized groups, people and topics that hardly ever take place on conservative comedy stages.

SMASH COMEDY is an alternative show with slightly different perspectives and jokes about life, society and being human. A stage without toxic masculinity, misogyny and racism, queer and trans hostility - a stage for queers, non-binary people, women, lesbians, trans people and others - and a safe(r) space for the audience. Motto: With maximum fun and diversity power against discrimination.

Our stand-up comedy is not political cabaret, and yet it is a political, cultural activist act. Show solidarity, educate yourself, train your empathy muscles and come to our deluxe show, we look forward to it!

Annick Adelle:

From Berlin to L.A. to New York

Annick earned her spurs in the birthplace of comedy: first local gigs in San Francisco and Los Angeles, then feature and headlining tours all over the USA.

Annick is on fire for comedy. There's hardly a place she hasn't played. From quirky locations such as the basement of a pizza store in New York to renowned comedy clubs such as the "L.A. Comedy Store" and the "Laugh Factory". As soon as she arrived in Germany, things went from strength to strength: Quatsch Comedy Club, Nightwash and TV requests flooded in. Annick's keen powers of observation and ability to highlight the absurdities of everyday life not only amuse audiences, but also make them think. In doing so, Annick picks up on topics that are currently moving and shares astute observations without anyone losing face.

The focus of the shows is being in the moment. With the audience. Situational comedy. The audience is allowed to be there. Every performance is unique, never performed again. You have to experience this talent for yourself: Annick Adelle.

Laura Brümmer:
Comedy is an art form that is often the result of a wide variety of talents. For Laura Brümmer, this is her gift for observation and her keen sense of humor. With a curious eye, she observes the everyday chaos around her and finds the hidden comedy that is just waiting to be brought to the stage. From situations where children insult you without warning to the bizarre expressions of love she secretly observes at the doctor's office, Laura finds the potential for humorous stories everywhere. Her unique perspective on life promises hearty laughter, AHA moments and an unforgettable evening for her audience.

Laura, an experienced musical actress, has not only conquered the stages of Germany and Austria with her roles in popular productions such as "The Jungle Book" and "Tarzan". Since 2020, she has appeared in formats such as "Ladies Night", "Ladies Night Youngstars", "Quatsch Comedy Club", "Quatsch Comedy Show", "NightWash Live" and the "Stuttgarter Comedy Clash" and has been capturing the hearts of comedy audiences with her humor ever since.

Okan Seese:

OKAN SEESE, "Better deaf than no bird at all"

This is what the press can say about Okan:
Okan Seese is deaf, gay and half Turkish. And he is Germany's only deaf comedian who also performs for hearing audiences. In his solo show "Lieber taub als gar kein Vogel", expectations are turned on their head: An interpreter, who is not paid per hour but per laugh, translates the signs for the audience. And Okan only pays for laughs that he can hear.

Are you wondering whether deaf people can do anything with music? How they hear their alarm clock? Or whether they are even allowed to drive a car? How do deaf people actually make phone calls? Can they dial the emergency number? And do they get turned on by moaning during sex?
Okan talks about his everyday life with great self-irony and from an unusual perspective for hearing people. He skillfully plays with stereotypes, only to break them again in the next moment. His humor is surprising and honest and his facial expressions are enchanting. Okan takes us into a fascinating world with a strong community, a rich culture and his own expressive language.

"Hello, my name is Okan Seese and I am deaf. That's why my neighbors love me, because I've never called the police for disturbing the peace. But when we play Activity together, the mood can quickly change, at the latest after my tenth win in a row. But what can I do, I grew up in a deaf family and everyone around me was always signing.

As a deaf, gay person of Turkish descent, my view of things rarely conforms to the so-called norm. Diversity is part of my existence and art in its diversity is a vital form of expression for me. I am an actor, music translator, sign language poet, presenter and comedian. My work has already won me several prizes at sign language festivals, so people in the deaf scene have already heard of me... I mean: they know my name there. But the world is not enough, so I want to finally share my love of stand-up comedy with the small group of hearing people. To make sure it's not just fun for me, I've brought comedian Archie Clapp on board to translate my jokes into his language for hearing people at the same time. Sounds crazy? It is! And that's exactly why the whole thing is very, very funny!
With every show, the certainty grows that humor is a universal language that can be used to build a bridge between deaf and hearing people. So come and see for yourself and be my guest at 'Lieber taub als gar kein Vogel'."

Schwessi:

Schwessi has no time for surnames. She is over 40 and works voluntarily as a single mother - or what do you call it when you don't get paid for work?
She is loud and she is purple - and if her comedy is already too loud for you, you should listen to her songs first!

Schwessi polarizes online and live on stage with her jokes, her videos and her songs, only to unite everything again beyond all clichés. In terms of content, the AfD and the patriarchy meet full-forward humor and ruthless self-irony, and pacifist utopias meet the apocalypse.

Sometimes you could just cry when you look at the world. Better to laugh about it then. For Schwessi, the stage is first and foremost a social project. The more people listen to her get upset about the world, the less she has to get upset about the world. Pop meets cabaret, comedy meets indie rock. And love meets middle finger.

She makes socially critical satirical music videos about gender stereotypes, patriotism and right-wing populism as well as discrimination against single parents in the patriarchal system.
In her spare time, she looks after trolls on the internet for free and dates annoying men so that they are busy and off the market for everyone else.

On stage, Schwessi talks, sings and rants about straight dating, queer dating, dating over 40 and dating as a queer single parent over 40.
She has the same problems that all other mothers with purple hair and rock star lives, who sing for a living and shut down nuclear power plants in their spare time, have: Her teenage son is rebelling, and her inner child is rebelling against external decay.
