In the organizer's words:

An evening of funk, jazz and groove is an evening with soft cake.
soft cake is a funk and jazz band founded in September 2024, which is characterized above all by groovy original compositions such as Blue Knight, Slow Walker or Night Lights. The program is further complemented by jazz standards such as Summertime and Caravan. Covers such as Clint Eastwood complete the program.
The still young band is made up of Philipp Ment (21, trombone), Matīss Keišs (19, bass), Henry Mardorf (16, piano) and Johann Bahr (17, drums).
The band got to know each other through jazz musician Uli Große from Kaufungen. All band members also have a connection to the Jacob Grimm School.
The music of soft cake is inspired by jazz greats such as jazz pianist Herbie Hancock and the American funk band Vulfpeck.
