SON OF A MOTHER. MOTHER OF A SON/LYSISTRATA GOES ON VACATION
Son of a mother. Mother of a son.
Lysistrata goes on vacation
On a Greek island, Lysistrata seeks refuge from a society based on violence. But her time out is abruptly interrupted when her father turns up and expresses his surprise that his daughter has the desire to become a mother here of all places. Based on Aristophanes' comedy, Ukrainian author and director Oleksandr Seredin raises existential questions: are we at the mercy of the legacy of the past, or is there a way to break the cycle of violence?
Iranian playwright and director Pooyan Bagherzadeh paints a moving picture of a mother in Iran and her son in Germany. In their daily video calls, Bagherzadeh describes not only an exemplary mother-son relationship, but also growing up in Iran, the historical developments from the revolution to the present day and the adversities of everyday life. But above all, he shows one thing: the great concern for each other.
