Soirée symphonique
A concert evening with Dukas, Saint-Saëns, Debussy and Franck
The University Orchestra of HHU Düsseldorf takes you into the world of French symphonic music with works by four outstanding composers who have had a lasting influence on music history.
The program begins with Paul Dukas ' "Fanfare pour précéder 'La péri'", which the orchestra's brass ensemble performs in all its glory. This is followed by Camille Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto No. 1, a fascinating work that delights with its virtuoso instrumentation and expressive depth.
This is followed by Claude Debussy's "Claire de lune", which comes to life in an orchestration by André Léon Caplet and presents the impressionistic charm of this famous piece in a grandiose orchestral sound.
The crowning finale is César Franck's Symphony in D minor, a work full of dramatic intensity and musical complexity that reflects the influences of Beethoven and Wagner on Franck's oeuvre.
Look forward to an evening full of color and emotion from the heart of the French musical tradition!
