Movement begins within.
In this session, you’ll explore how sound, rhythm, and bodily sensations resonate with one another. Somatic Dance combines conscious body awareness with free movement and intuitive music—a practice that both grounds and liberates you.
To begin, I’ll guide you into a subtle awareness of your body using various sounds—drums, rattles, chimes, and my voice. You’ll feel how vibrations affect your breath, your posture, and your inner sensations. In a subsequent movement introduction, you’ll learn to experience your body in space: while standing, walking, moving, and in contact with the floor and the group. This forms the foundation for free dance. The music unfolds organically—from gentle, lulling sounds through tropical house and pop to ’80s classics, drum ’n’ bass, and shamanic beats. The rhythm becomes a guide, leading you from inner stillness to powerful vitality.
Somatic Dance is a journey in which body and mind come into harmony with one another. You’ll learn to let go, move authentically, and feel joy, expansiveness, and lightness.
