Highlights of the 2025/26 school year

The Jena Music and Art School invites you to a special concert evening: On June 5, 2026 at 8 pm, the Kassablanca Jena will be transformed into a stage for rousing big band sound.

Look forward to a varied evening with the school's three big bands: R&B Bees, Masters of Muppet and the Blue Beans Big Band. Under the motto "Highlights of the school year 2025/26", the ensembles will present their favorite pieces - those musical moments that have particularly shaped and accompanied them throughout the year.

The R&B Bees, the beginners' band of the big band branch, impressively demonstrate how much energy and joy of playing is created when people of different ages make music together. From classics to well-known titles from blues, rock, pop and jazz, everything is included.

With a powerful sound and great stage presence, the Masters of Muppet create a great atmosphere. Their versatile repertoire and the mixture of instrumental and vocal interludes make every concert an experience.

The Blue Beans Big Band, an integral part of the Jena music scene for over 30 years, combines classic swing with modern grooves and its own arrangements. Numerous collaborations and international projects shape the characteristic sound of this ensemble.

The bands are led by Yuniet Lombida Prieto and Klaus Wegener. Together with Evgenij Zelikman, who has accompanied the ensembles intensively during this phase and provided important impulses, they shape the development of the musicians with passion, experience and musical diversity.

Another highlight: the concert will be recorded to capture the musical highlights of this school year.

Whether young or old, pupils, students or music lovers - this evening invites everyone to experience the joy of live music and making music together. Let yourself be carried away by the energy of the big bands!
