Summer concerts at Kulturhaus Arthur/aaltra
Sometimes it doesn't take much: good music, nice people, a cool drink and a nice place to enjoy the summer evening.
That's why Kulturhaus Arthur and aaltra invite you to two special summer concerts.
Our after-work concerts bring you exactly what summer deserves: live music, a relaxed atmosphere and time for socializing.
Summer concert I: Bentu
Bentu is the musical encounter between the internationally renowned singer, guitarist and percussionist Badi Assad and the singer, composer and percussionist Sérgio Pererê, a formative voice of the Afro-Brazilian music scene from Minas Gerais.
Together they explore Brazil's Afro-Brazilian traditions, which are deeply rooted in the religious and cultural rhythms of the Guarda de Moçambique and the Congo. Voices, guitar and percussion merge into a powerful and at the same time poetic sound between tradition and the present.
Badi Assad is one of Brazil's most important musicians. Rolling Stone Magazine listed her among the 70 most important Brazilian guitarists in music history. She has delighted international audiences for years with performances at renowned festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival and the Montreal International Jazz Festival.
Bentu combines musical virtuosity, cultural depth and the vibrant power of Brazilian traditions to create an extraordinary concert experience.
