Saint Ansgar is regarded as the Apostle of the North and continues to shape church life in Hamburg to this day. On a summer pilgrimage through the city center, passing by depictions of the Apostle of the North, those interested can explore his legacy and its significance for the present day.
Parish worker and pilgrimage guide Alexandra Avermiddig cordially invites you to join this event on Sunday, July 19, 2026. The tour begins at 4:00 p.m. at the statue of Saint Ansgar in front of St. Mary’s Cathedral. The pilgrimage takes about three hours and ends at the Brooks Bridge.
Note: Please be sure to wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring plenty of drinks.
