Son Little (Aaron Earl Livingston) is a soul and R&B musician from Philadelphia. His music is characterized by a love of hip-hop and infused with funk, pop and psychedelia, all combined with his excellent beatmaking skills. Born the son of a preacher, his understanding of soul is not based on vintage transfers, rather traditional old-school blues and soul elements are recaptured in a minimalist mode. In doing so, Son Little revolutionizes a modern understanding of the R&B sound and delivers an authentic interpretation of black American music.

Son Little established himself in the Philadelphia music scene as the singer of the band The Mean, with the electronica producer RJD2 he founded the project "Icebird" and released the LP "Abandoned Lullaby", followed by a collaboration with The Roots. He also wrote and produced the album "Your Good Fortune" by soul legend Mavis Staples. He has been making a name for himself with his solo recordings since 2015. He has now released 4 albums and what can we say: they are great and make you fall in love.

His latest album "Like Neptune" was created after a long period of intense confrontation with his inner demons of anxiety, depression and panic attacks. The musical processing of these years sounds surprisingly light-hearted, undoubtedly marking a phase of awakening and at the same time a return to Livingston's origins in the East Coast hip-hop and soul underground scene. Beginning with the incredibly groovy opener "Drummer", Little delivers one thing above all: a feeling for music and a sense of the power we can draw from intimacy and vulnerability. For example, when we sing about it. The album is full of tender, striking beats in all the right places, gospel-soul influences, funk, blues, psych-rock elements, dreamy synthesizers and extraordinary pop melodies. There are actually no words for it, it's just perfectly beautiful.
