For thousands of years, the Rhine has been an important identity and location factor for the people living nearby. In the Roman Empire, however, the river was much more: a transportation network, a lively trade route and a vibrant border. Experience the history of the so-called "wet Limes" and the Roman Empire on a guided tour of Haus Bürgel with a certified Limes Cicerone. Our Limes Cicerone will guide you through the Roman Museum and the archaeological sites in around 1.5 hours and explain
and explains the life of the Roman soldiers and the significance of this border fortification on the Rhine. The tour offers in-depth insights into the unique connection between nature, agriculture and history on the historic river border.
