EIN STUMMER HUND WILL ICH NICHT SEIN follows the fate of the Catholic priest Korbinian Aigner, who was sent to Dachau concentration camp in 1941 because of his resistance to the Nazis and was forced to work in the dreaded "herb garden".

At the risk of his life, Korbinian Aigner managed to grow new varieties of apples between the barracks of the concentration camp and smuggle the seedlings out of the camp - a way for him to counter the deadly abyss with new life. The variety he himself named "KZ3" survived and is now planted around the world as a memorial tree.

With eyewitness accounts, feature film scenes, historical photo and film documents and atmospherically dense animation sequences in the style of a graphic novel, this film tells two unknown stories from the darkest chapter of Germany's past - that of the priest Korbinian Aigner and that of the most important work detachment of the Dachau concentration camp, the "herb garden" trivialized by the Nazis, in which people were murdered "to heal the German national body" according to the principle of "extermination through work".

The fact that Korbinian Aigner survived, and with him his Korbinian's apple, is a sign of hope and an inspiration for future generations. This makes this film more relevant and important than ever, especially in our time.
