One-off special screening of the TV film based on Ferdinand von Schirach.

In cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Humanes Sterben (DGHS) e.V. followed by a discussion.

Who owns our lives? And who decides about our death? In the major TV event "GOTT by Ferdinand von Schirach", these questions are discussed in a fictional ethics council. It is about the case of a 78-year-old, perfectly healthy man who wants to end his life with a drug and the help of his doctor. Legally, this has been possible since February of this year following a ruling by the Federal Constitutional Court, but the ethical debate is still ongoing.

In November 2020, Das Erste showed the TV film with a top-class cast including Barbara Auer, Lars Eidinger, Matthias Habich, Ulrich Matthes, Anna Maria Mühe, Christiane Paul, Götz Schubert and Ina Weisse, which was staged by multi-award-winning director Lars Kraume based on the play and book of the same name "GOTT von Ferdinand von Schirach".
