Are we experiencing the end of an illusion of connectedness? Canadian dancer, choreographer and musician Frédérick Gravel explores this question in SONGS OF LOVE AND COLLAPSE. The artistic director of the company DLD (named after its founder Daniel Léveillé Danse) perceives a growing gap between lived and perceived reality. An increasing alienation among his contemporaries. Yes, society is making progress. But this progress is fragmented, unevenly distributed. It is happening at different speeds and is no longer experienced and shared as common. The public debate: uninhibited and deafening. Gravel combines these symptoms of a fragile political and social situation with intimate, personal experiences. With the confusing feeling of extreme simultaneity - of agonizing slowness and frantic tempos. This creates the unique Gravel connection. Of choreography and rock, vulnerability and raw energy.
