Serious fun based on NeiI Simon's 1972 Broadway classic "The Sunshine Boys".
Old enmity never rusts. Not even for the estranged comedy couple Willy and Al. When the two are asked to perform together again after many years of silence, everything breaks out again: the rivalry, their outdated view of humanity, role models and their sense of humor.
The former thoroughbred comedians are constantly at loggerheads, and one is more confused than the other. No wonder the whole thing ends in a fiasco.
Hidden among all the laughs in this tragicomic play is the fear that not only artists know, namely that they will be sidelined in old age. After acting greats from Bernhard Minetti to Walter Matthau and Woody Allen have dared to tackle this material, the Dortmund audience can look forward to the two Theater Fletch Bizzel and Geierabend veterans Fips Krüger and HP Lengkeit.
