SORTIMENT – Ausstellung, Vernissage und Programm der Architekturstudierenden der HafenCity Universität

From February 6 to 9, 2026, SORTIMENT is inviting architecture students from HafenCity University Hamburg - University of Architecture and Metropolitan Development to exhibit their work. Over an entire weekend, the university will become a place for public discourse: The works on display not only provide insights into current design processes, but also pose the question of how architecture is conceived, negotiated and communicated today.

SORTIMENT sees itself as an open format and is aimed at all interested parties - regardless of whether they come from an architectural context or not. What responsibility does architecture bear in a city that is constantly reinventing itself? For whom are spaces planned - and who is left out? The focus is on exchange - between students, teachers and guests. The exhibition is complemented by a diverse program that takes place throughout the weekend and translates the exhibition into different formats: Workshops, discussion rounds, a film event and hands-on activities create space for participation, reflection and discussion.

The vernissage on Friday, February 6, starting at 6:30 pm, will be the kick-off event. A central point of the program is the lecture by Jurek Brüggen entitled "Jetzt wird alles gut". This will be followed by a tour of the exhibition, which will bring the works on display into direct dialog with visitors. Food, drinks, music and open discussions will accompany the celebration, which will then continue on the dance floor at fundbureau. Upon presentation of an HCU ID card, only half the admission price is charged.

SORTIMENT is a varied weekend of encounters: between design and discussion, between space and society. Come along, bring friends and family and experience architecture as a shared exchange.
