YYARD is a musical project by pianist, keyboardist, and producer Yannis Anft, with roots in Cologne and Berlin. Born in 1993, Anft began playing the piano at age 11. From 2013 to 2019, he studied jazz piano at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. Since then, he has been active in numerous bands and projects, such as the hip-hop/neo-soul act SALOMEA and Delusional Mind. During the pandemic, Anft began focusing on producing electronic music, with an emphasis on club-oriented sounds. In the summer of 2024, YYARD released “San Ásteria,” a four-track EP on Polygonia’s label QEONE. More recently, he contributed a track to a various-artists compilation titled “Pattern Gardening,” hosted by the UK label Wisdom Teeth. In addition, YYARD continues to self-release music via Bandcamp, such as his “recalibrate ep” (2024) and the single “Prayer (Feel Like This).”
