Michel Winterberg | Drifting Futures

Solo presentation

In his exhibition Drifting Futures, media artist Michel Winterberg focuses on what lies beneath the visible surface of our reality. He examines hidden systems, persistent power structures and fragile futures. These aspects are often organized algorithmically and are beyond our control, even though they shape our thoughts and actions. We like to suppress them in order to maintain our familiar normality and block out the overwhelming present. Winterberg's media art makes patterns of this hidden reality tangible.

In Winterberg's exhibition, visitors are invited to wander through fragile fragments of our reality. Here, bodies are digital, codes are political, the climate is unstable and the future is uncertain. As a subversive counterweight to powerlessness, seriousness and rigid system logic, we encounter a subtle pinch of humor in many of his works.
