A run-down neighborhood on the outskirts of Athens, marked by crime and poverty: cousins Reda and Chatila struggle daily with the same plight as hundreds of thousands of other Palestinians - life as refugees. Bound by love and friendship, but also the burden of despair that haunts them across time and place, they struggle to escape their misery and secure a better future for themselves and the loved ones they have left behind.
But is there even a way out for them? How can humanity be preserved when one is born into a life characterized by unceasing cruelty?
To a Land Unknown is an empathetic, moving and captivating examination of the situation of Palestinians and what it means to be a stateless refugee in a world characterized by racist prejudice and social inequality.
The screening on 29.01. is a cooperation with the Refugee Law Clinic and Students for Palestine. Following the film, they invite you to a discussion about flight and statelessness.
