What makes a spell?

What if we think ofspells as more than just incantations that can seduce and control someone? Could spells be reconceptualized as tools of collective liberation if we examine their ability to evoke idiosyncratic images, sounds, words and actions that can set the body in motion from a state of torpor or blockage?

Spells Against Fears is a physical theater piece between autofiction and dream journey, arranged by five women. Together they embark on a journey into the heart of fear to grasp its form - collectively and individually - and find ways to overcome it, so that when night falls and the light goes out, they find the courage to move.

map its shape - collective & individual - and find passages across it, so when the night falls and light goes out, they can find the courage to move.
