The Spider Murphy Gang has been at home on the stages of the republic since 1977 and it is precisely there that it becomes clear why this band has an unbroken cult status. When Günther Sigl, Barney Murphy and their comrades-in-arms get going, every hall becomes a rock'n'roll club with driving guitars, a rolling boogie piano and a joy of playing that is immediately infectious.

The gang started their triumphal march out of the Munich scene with songs such as "Sommer in der Stadt", "Schickeria" and, of course, "Skandal im Sperrbezirk". Hits that have long since become collective party hits and evergreens and are sung along to from thousands of throats at every concert. Despite gold and platinum records, sold-out halls and international success, the band has always remained what it was from the very beginning: an honest rock'n'roll band that delivers a great rock'n'roll show. They do this unplugged or as a complete rock band with a big set.

The Spiders' breakthrough came via the Munich clubs, starting in "Memoland", then in the legendary BR "Rockhouse". This is where the Bavarian rock'n'roll that made the band unmistakable was born. With the aforementioned mega-hits such as "Schickeria" and "Skandal im Sperrbezirk", the gang wrote music history throughout Germany in the wake of the New German Wave. The album "Dolce Vita" sold over a million copies, the halls got bigger, the tours longer, but the core of their success always remained the same: playing live, sweating, partying.

Whether it's the Olympic Hall, Circus Krone, huge open airs or intimate clubs: the Spider Murphy Gang transforms every venue into a rock'n'roll party. The fans, now united over generations, know every line, every gesture. Whether unplugged or as a well-rehearsed rock band, Günther Sigl is as credible a frontman as ever and entertains with witty and amusing anecdotes. The affectionate banter between the Spiders veterans Günther and Barney is of course also cult. The two deliver a verbal ping-pong on stage that is guaranteed to leave no dry eye in the house.

Even after gold and platinum records, international releases, films, TV shows and countless anniversaries, the gang has never lost its grip. New musicians were added, the sound became broader, but the attitude remained unchanged: honest, handmade rock'n'roll without frills. The band currently consists of Günther Sigl (vocals, bass), Barney Murphy (guitar), Ludwig Seuss (piano/keyboards), Willie Duncan (guitar, bass), Otto Staniloi (saxophone) and Andreas Keller (drums), who bring the rock'n'roll sound to the stage with gusto. The Spiders stand for five decades of honest and straightforward rock'n'roll that takes no prisoners. It goes without saying that the Spiders continue to tour unabated.
