Film screening & panel discussion
December 09, 2025 - 6:00 pm
COBL by Opencampus - Legienstraße 40, 24103 Kiel
"Explosives" is a fictional film that shows 80 years after the end of the Second World War how deeply racist prejudices still have an impact today. The discovery of a World War II bomb forces an entire neighborhood to evacuate to a gymnasium next to a refugee shelter. Different realities of life collide there - memories of the war and experiences of recent flight. Tensions, prejudices and rash accusations arise while the explosive ordnance disposal service works and threaten to escalate.
The event uses the film as a starting point to discuss social tensions, experiences of racism, prevention and cohesion.
