Spruchreif, die Lesebühne im Literaturhaus

In the organizer's words:

The Wohnzimmerslam opens its doors to a new stage in Dortmund: "Spruchreif, die Lesebühne im Literaturhaus"!

We invite 6-8 poets from Dortmund and the surrounding area who want to entertain the audience with their art. The rules of the "classic poetry slam" will be relaxed, meaning that anything can happen here! Props are allowed, singing is permitted and there is no competition. This allows us to have a cozy evening without competition and gives us the opportunity to tickle the personalities of the performers in joint conversations on stage and to challenge them when writing improv texts, which is traditionally part of the reading stage.
The beauty of this event is that it not only provides a stage for the Wohnzimmerslam team, but also celebrates newcomer and U20 art. So you can follow the first steps of up-and-coming artists.

Because there are no thematic guidelines for the texts, every slam is a grab bag. It can be personal, funny, political, lyrical, absurd or weird - but always in a good way.
The event is moderated and organized with authenticity, jokes and profundity by Ely; poetry slammer, author and board member of Wohnzimmerslam e.V.

The Wohnzimmerslam Dortmund has been taking place in many different locations for over ten years and is now growing to include the reading stage in the Literaturhaus.

It is important to us to create our events as safe spaces. Discrimination of any kind has no place here. So that everyone can participate in fantastic word art, there is always an awareness person who is available as your contact person for the evening, answers any questions about menstrual products, drinks and accompaniment to the train station and is happy to take criticism and any discomfort. Come as you are: loud, covered up, a little shy, alone or with people, queer or not queer, great and wonderful - however you feel comfortable. We look forward to a feel-good atmosphere and an audience that is simply in the mood for culture.
