A place for art from the Middle Ages to modern times
The Staatsgalerie Stuttgart is one of the most popular museums in Germany and impresses with a collection that includes paintings and sculptures from the 14th to the 20th century. The focus is on 20th century art, making the museum a central meeting place for anyone with an interest in modern and contemporary art.
Around 800 works are on display in the permanent collection. In addition, there are changing presentations of the graphic art collection, which draws on an impressive stock of around 400,000 sheets. Every year, seven to eight new exhibitions are created, accompanied by a varied guided tour program that makes art accessible in a lively way.
A special gift for all visitors: admission to the collection is free on Wednesdays. Perfect for a spontaneous art moment in the middle of the week.
