City of the future - a dance theater piece by children and young people

In "City of the Future - A Vision in Dance and Theatre", which will be performed at Studio Pro Arte on March 14 and 15, 2025 at 7 p.m., children and young people explore a central question: How do we want to live together in the future?

What does a place of freedom and cohesion based on a functioning democracy look like? In this dance theater piece, the young participants present their own vision of the future. They formulate their demands to the adults and share their vision of a happy, peaceful world.

The piece was developed as part of a creative process lasting several months at Studio Pro Arte - the dance house and cultural center. With contemporary and urban dance, poetic texts and theatrical elements, the young dancers set inspiring impulses for a better world of tomorrow.

This project is a cooperation between Studio Pro Arte, the Protestant parish of Freiburg Südwest and the parish of Merzhausen and was realized as part of the federal funding programme "Chance Tanz".

Performances: March 14 and 15, each at 7 p.m.
