As an ambitious film director, Leni Riefenstahl is targeted by the National Socialist propaganda minister Goebbels and senses her chance. She recognizes the artistic genius of her cameraman Willy Zielke in his work. Can she exploit it for herself and build her career in the service of the fascist rulers? Can she triumph over Zielke's will? She tries to tactic, pursuing strategies like a secret agent in a political arena that is tending towards the abyss. However, the minister, who controls the entire cultural sector, is pursuing his own agenda. A life-threatening situation for Willy Zielke, the real artist; he is both victim and pawn - but the recognition of the artist, who is questionable for the National Socialist, is the guarantor of Riefenstahl's success. An infernal trio heading for a human catastrophe.

Commissioned by director Frank Hoffmann, playwright Albert Ostermaier has created Stahltier. An Exorcism was written for two very special actors: Jacqueline Macaulay and Wolfram Koch. An explosive play, an explosive subject, a top-class cast.
