STAY - URBAN SKETCHING

STAY aims to inspire people to try new things and venture into the unfamiliar. Visitors are invited to take part in Craft Night, a cozy evening where we get creative together. The evening includes an urban sketching workshop led by Pia Schneider. Pia is completing her voluntary social year (FSJ) at the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe, where she has already gained some experience leading workshops and creative activities, and she is also artistically active in her free time. For STAY, she’ll lead the Urban Sketching Workshop, during which we’ll take a short walk around Marienplatz together and sketch the city. There’s no pressure to be perfect—the goal is simply to capture the atmosphere. Everyone is invited—with or without prior experience—and after the workshop, you can either take your sketches home right away or have them included in the opening reception the following day, where they’ll be exhibited.

After the urban sketching session, we’ll return to the Rampe, where we’ll have the chance to explore our artistic side further at the Eckladen. We’ll provide a variety of art supplies, so you can continue sketching, creating collages, or painting, and we can wrap up the evening on a creative note together.

We’ll provide pens and small notebooks, but you’re also welcome to bring your own sketchbooks.
