In the organizer's words:
A reading performance with Stefan Jürgens
As Harras in Zuckmayer's "Teufels General", he thrilled audiences in the theater last year, as a singer-songwriter in many concert halls recently; as Carl Ribarski in Soko Wien, he is loved by an audience of millions. Now we can experience the Nestroy Award winner in a major poetry evening.
In his first published volume of poetry "Loveletters - willful outpourings of love", Stefan Jürgens presents himself as a hopeful romantic who uninhibitedly confronts the trench warfare between the sexes with the miracle of love. Here, love is celebrated and elevated to the supreme formula for happiness. A sigh of relief in dark times and a night light for confidence.
In his reading performance "Nennˋ es Liebe", he now lets all manifestations of love pass us by. We feel its healing power as well as its destructive rage. We revel in its unrestraint and witness its sacrifice. Great poets of world literature show us the many faces of love, which could not be more different. And yet they all bear witness to one thing in common: love is non-negotiable. And cannot be locked into rules. It survives under the harshest of conditions and cannot be subjected to coercion. It is what defines us. It is all that matters.
