With her fifth album Adagio, Greek artist Σtella is venturing a premiere: for the first time, she is also singing in Greek, her mother tongue. The foundations for the album were laid in 2019 during a boat trip to the island of Anafi. Inspired by the vastness of the Mediterranean and a personal crisis that she wanted to put behind her, a spontaneous melody gave rise to a first song - "Omorfo Mou", one of the two Greek-language tracks on the album.

Σtella, who grew up in a rural suburb of Athens, processes the longing for the simplicity of her childhood in Adagio. Nylon-stringed guitars, feather-light percussion and a touch of melancholy characterize the album, which bears an intimate and personal signature despite international collaborations. With songs that feel like warm hugs, Σtella succeeds in creating a 27-minute pop meditation on love, time and tranquillity.

The album comprises mainly English-language tracks, but brings an unmistakable authenticity with "Omorfo Mou" and a cover version of the Greek classic "Ta Vimata" by Litsa Sakellariou. With over three million monthly Spotify listeners, Σtella proves that modern Greek pop can also be successful internationally - without forgetting its roots.
