At our open mic night, six authors will each read from their works for 10 minutes. Three will be selected by us, and three more will be chosen by lottery that evening from among the authors in attendance. All genres and forms are welcome: short stories, novel excerpts, poetry, slam, fantasy, and much more. Diverse, intriguing, sometimes room for improvement, sometimes award-worthy, sometimes unpublished, sometimes available as a book—an event full of surprises awaits you, featuring familiar and new voices from the Lower Rhine literary scene (and this time, even a little beyond). Host Taibe Karaman will guide you through the evening. Marcia Ember (*2003), who grew up in Ashburn (VA) and Bergisch Gladbach, lives in Viersen and is pursuing a master’s degree in psychology. She feels most at home among writing workshops, D&D sessions, and fantastical worlds. Her goal is to ensure greater Sapphic representation in the German-language fantasy genre.Claudio Ghin (b. 1983 in Mönchengladbach) grew up in the Sauerland region, studied literary studies, linguistics, and cultural anthropology in Paderborn, and has lived in Mönchengladbach for the past twelve years. There, he works as a senior copywriter at an advertising agency. Under the pen name Mistergambit, he has published work on neon.de, among other platforms; performed on poetry slam stages for several years; and contributed to the literary project “1000Zeichen” on Instagram. His first collection of short stories, *Auf einem Auge Herbst*, was published in 2016. His second collection of short stories, *Im Rahmen meiner Möglichkeiten hängt ein Bild von dir*, is scheduled for release in the spring of 2026. He is currently looking for the right literary agency for his first novel. Louis Kleinwächter is studying social work in Cologne. Prior to that, he studied creative writing at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. He writes short stories, including some for children, and has been published in the literary magazine *Jenny* as well as in the *Untergrundminiaturen* series from Kopf & Kragen Verlag. In 2024, he co-edited the anthology *Tippgemeinschaft*.
