MUSIC AS SPIRITUAL PRACTICE

The residency project of the African and Afro-diasporic collective YARN ENSEMBLE, initiated by percussionist Lukas Akintaya aka ADÉOLÚ, explores the importance of rituals and musical traditions for community-based resilience strategies in today's world. The focus is on "yarning" - the telling of stories as a collective, unifying practice. In conversation with journalist and author Maxi Broecking, members of the ensemble will give insights into the creative processes and the exploration of jazz as a spiritual form of expression.
