Stream of Consciousness | szene machen! Festival der Dortmunder Tanz- und Theaterszene

We are not just in places, but in mental states. In our cities, (work) spaces, bodies and minds, we feel at ease, insecure, suspended, on display, sold out. The perception of places and the personal state of mind influence each other and are in constant flux: sometimes fluid and fragile, sometimes solid and unyielding. In the "Stream of Consciousness" workshop, we want to literally give space to how we feel.

The participants will create their own miniature world of consciousness within the spatial dimension of cardboard boxes. Boxes are created in which a diffuse feeling is depicted. Or spaces that trigger a certain feeling in the viewer. The spaces can be dreamy, abstract, concrete, absurd and empty. The boundaries are set by the participants and the available workshop time.

The participants have a wide range of materials at their disposal, from acrylic paint to fabric and wire. Collected materials from packaging netting, plastic spoons to newspaper clippings and plant material are used. You can also bring your own materials and objects.

No previous knowledge required. Informal, open-ended work with good music and a battle of materials. Bring a change of clothes if necessary.
