Street Art Lesungen mit Maria Babusch & Thea Mantwill

In the organizer's words:

Literary walk to street art locations in Cologne-Ehrenfeld

We are going on tour again to exciting street art locations in Cologne-Ehrenfeld. Each tour will feature two authors who have taken a literary approach to individual works of art in public spaces. Together with the authors, we go from artwork to artwork and listen to the texts directly on site - in the middle of the city. Experienced street art guide Sascha Klein will provide information about the district and the artworks along the way.

Maria Babusch, born in 1996, is an author and theater maker. She studied literature and cultural studies in Dortmund, Bochum and Leeds. She was invited to the auftakt festival for scenic texts in 2021. As part of the collective Operation Memory, she developed the production "Cherchez la FemMe" at Schauspiel Dortmund in 2022. Other texts have recently appeared in Kollektive Literaturzeitschrift Würzburg and Glitter. She lives in Dortmund.

Thea Mantwill is an artist and author. She works in pictures, installative scenographies and books. She received the Rolf-Dieter Brinkmann Scholarship from the City of Cologne in 2023 for the artist's novella 'Glühfarbe' and an excerpt from her novel 'Spindel'. For her blog SLEEPER, she conducts conversations and writes about and with artists and writers. Her texts have been published in various artist publications, catalogs, magazines and most recently on the blog freiTEXT of Mosaik magazine. Her happy place is baths and the book that must never be lost is Nachtgewächs by Djuna Barnes. She lives and works in Düsseldorf.

The meeting point is at a central point in Cologne-Ehrenfeld and will be announced.

This event is supported by the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne.
